Creating a CSV file from Microsoft Access
Creating a CSV file from Microsoft Access (database) is similar to that from Excel, but there are a few more steps. Fortunately a "wizard" helps you through the stages.
With Access running, and the data being displayed in a table:
- From the menu select "File" and then "Save As/Export..."
- On the first window just press OK
- On the next window
- From the "Save as type:" drop down list, select "Text Files (*.txt;*.csv;*.tab;*.asc)"
- Give your file a meaningful name, and add the .csv extension instead of the .txt extension
- Make sure that the checkbox "save formatted" is empty
- Click in the button marked "Export"
- Next screen:
- Just click "next..." and on the next screen, change "Text Qualifier" to {none}
- Then click "next..." and finally: name the file with a .csv extension, and click on "Finish"
