How To Add A Heading On A Content Page

Part 1: Navigate To The Page

 

1. Login to TheWebConsole

2. From the left side menu click Manage Pages and choose Content Pages

3. From the content page list either add a new page or edit an existing page

Part 2: Adding A Heading Module

 

1. Once the drag and drop editor has loaded you will be given the option to add different content modules into the page. All of these content modules first require a “Section” to be added. Once you have added your section and formatted it to your liking, simply click the “Heading” content module, located in the side menu. Once clicked, drag the module into the page, you will notice a blue highlighted box appear on the page wherever it is possible to add the module.

Part 3: Editing A Heading Module

 

1.Once a Heading module has been added onto a page, you will have the ability to edit the heading and its formatting. This can be done by hovering your mouse cursor over the text module and clicking the edit button, the edit button appears as a pencil icon in the top right of the section

2. Once the edit button has been clicked an edit window will appear. You can either type out the heading you wish to display in this module, or copy and paste it in from another source.

3. Once you have added the heading you will need to choose a Heading Type, you will have the options Heading 1 to Heading 6.

Note: Heading 1 should be the first piece of text on your page, there should only ever be a single heading 1 on a page, do not use this heading type  more than once per page

 

3. Once you have added your heading, there are numerous styling options you can use to tweak the heading module’s appearance, these are located in the “Style” tab found at the trop of the edit window. You can find an overview of the primary settings below:

  • Background Colour: allows you to set a background colour to to appear behind the heading

  • Text Colour: allows you to change the colour of the heading text

  • Font Family: this will allow you to change the font type from the default font of your site

  • Font size: allows you to increase or decrease the size of the heading text from the default, Google recommends not to display fonts in any size under 16px

  • Font Weight: allows you to choose how thin or thick the font will appear

  • Line Height: allows you to choose the size of the space between lines of text

  • Text Align: allows you to choose the general alignment of the text

  • Boarder: allows you to apply and style a border to sit around your heading text

  • Padding: allows you to add space around your heading text and other content modules in the section

4. Once you have added your heading text and styled it to your liking click the “Save” button, this will save the module and close the edit window

5. Once you are happy with your page, click the “Save: button found at the bottom of the side menu, this will apply all of your changes to the page

Note: always remember to follow the final point and save the page itself, or the hard work you have done will not be applied
