Authorised Domains
How to add an Authorised Domain in the Web Console?
An authorised domain is a domain that has had it's ownership authenticated by the Web Console which allows email campaigns to be received by email clients with less chance of the email being sent into the spam folder. Authenticating a domain proves that you have full access to the domain and own the domain name.
To authorise a domain name follow the below instructions:
- Log into your webconsole account and navigate to Settings (top right) > Account Settings > Authorised Domains.
- On this screen you have the option to Add an Authorised Domain, click the Add button and this will take you to a screen to add the domain name. Add the domain name without the www infront. Once added click the Submit button.
- Click the Get SPF Record to get your SPF TXT record - this will need to be added to the DNS of the domain name. Below is the TXT value that must be entered, it is the same for all domain names on our platform:
- v=spf1 mx include:thewebconsole.com ~all
- If you already have an existing SPF TXT Record, you will need to add include:thewebconsole.com to the back of that record before the ~all.
If your record was v=spf1 include:mydomain.com include:spf.protection.outlook.com ~all, this would then be adjusted to read: v=spf1 include:mydomain.com include:spf.protection.outlook.com include:thewebconsole.com ~all
Ensure there are spaces between each of your include domains and one between thewebconsole.com and ~all - Once the TXT record has been added to the DNS of the domain name click the Verify button. If the domain has been successfully verified, in the list of verified domain names in the Sender ID column there will be a green tick followed by the wording "Sender ID Verified". If your domain name has not been verified there will be a red cross and the wording "Sender ID Not Verified". If this is the case there could be a couple of factors involved. There could be propagation on the domain DNS which means the TXT record entry has not been updated yet and will need more time to update, the record has been added incorrectly or the DNS change was not done where the Name Servers are hosted. If this is the case please contact your internet consultant for more clarification.
