Setting up Shipping for your shopping cart

Shipping is broken up into two main sections, Zones and Shipping Methods.

Shippping Zones allow you to give your customers different shipping methods for their shipping based on the shipping address they enter in when they checkout. For example you can setup different shipping options for deliveries to different countries. If a location is not included within a zone then this means you do not allow shipping to that location.

For each zone you can create a number of shipping options that you customers can choose from when deciding how they want their item shipped by you. These options include, Flat price per order, Flat price per item, Pricing based on total cart weight, price based on the total cost of the cart, COD or Australia Post and TNT shipping costs based on the weight, volume and location the item is being delivered to.

To Setup the Shipping Zones,

  1. Click on "Add a Shipping Zone" in Shipping section of Shop Settings.
  2. For each zone, you can give it a name that only you will see, and a zone scope. A zone scope allows you to select which country, state, or postcodes this zone will apply to.

Once it has save the zone details, you can then add Shipping Methods for that zone by:

    • description - This can act as a hint, or tip for customers than are making a decision between methods.
    • method type - Choose the method type that you want to use.
  3. For each of the methods you can choose, you will be presented with options for each one.
