How to Manage Navigation Menu Items

Navigate to Menu

  1. Login to TheWebConsole.
  2. From the left side menu click Manage Pages and choose Menu.
 

Edit A Menu

  1. Once the Menu screen has opened you can choose which menu you would like to edit, simply click the blue “Edit” hyperlink located at the far right of your menu.

Note: If you only have one menu it may automatically be loaded.

 

Add A Sub Menu Item

1. Once you are in the menu you wish to edit you will be greeted with 2 columns. The left side column will display all of your menu items, the right side column will show you menu Detail settings. To add a sub menu item, click the grey downward arrow located on the far right of the menu item you wish to add it to.

Note: Menu items that branch out with subdomains are called parent items, parent items can not contain links.

 

2. From the drop-down options choose Create Sub Menu Item

3. Once the Menu Item Details window opens you will be given the ability to add your menu item, the first step is to enter a “Label”, this is what your users see when using the menu, ie “Contact Us”

4. Once you have entered a label you will need to choose a link type, there are multiple options which are covered below:

  • Link - this is an autocomplete field, simply begin to type the page name and it will find the link for you. Note this option can also search all of your add on tools, such as Shop, Blog, Gallery, Form Builder, Articles and Events.

  • Custom Link - this is used to link to third parties not on your website, simply add the URL directly into the Custom Link field

  • File Manager - allows you to link directly to a file within your image and file manager

  • No Link - this is used for creating parent menu items

  • Heading - this is used in box menu displays to break apart menu items

 

5. Once you have given the link a name and chosen the link type click the “Save” button to save the work you have done

6. Once you have entered your menu items click the grey “Save Menu” button located on the bottom left side of your menu items column, this will save the menu on your website.

 

Remove A Menu Item

  1. Once you are in the menu you wish to edit you will be greeted with 2 columns. The left side column will display all of your menu items, the right side column will show you menu Detail settings. To remove a menu item click the grey down arrow located on the right hand side of the menu item
  2. From the drop down options choose “Delete Link”, this will then show a prompt asking if you are sure you wish to delete the menu item, if you are sure, click the “Yes” button
  3. Once you have removed the menu item, click the grey “Save Menu” button located on the bottom left side of your menu items column, this will save the menu on your website.
