How To Add Knowledgebase Answers and Categories

Part 1: Navigate To knowledgebase 

 

1. Login to TheWebConsole

2.  From the left side menu click Knowledgebase and choose Answers

 

Part 2: Adding An Answer

 

1. Once the Answers screen loads you will have the option to edit, delete, reorder or add a new category. To add a new category click the blue “Add Answer” button.

 

2. Once the Add Answer screen loads you will have the below fields:

  • Heading - this is a required field used to display the text of the question/article

  • Answer - this is a required field and is used to display the knowledgebase entry

  • Visible - this allows you to show or hide the entry

  • Categories - this will allow you to choose a category to add the entry into, you can choose multiple categories if required. Note that adding categories is covered in another article

  • Meta description -  this is an optional field, it should contain no more than 300 characters and briefly cover the description from above, this is used for search engine optimisation

 

2. Once you have added all of the information for your answer click the blue “Save Answer” button.

 

How To Add Knowledgebase Categories

Part 1: Navigate To knowledgebase 

 

1. Login to TheWebConsole

2.  From the left side menu click knowledgebase and choose Categories 

 

Part 2: Adding A Category

 

1. Once the Categories screen loads you will have the option to edit, delete, reorder or add a new category. To add a new category click the blue “Add Category” button.

 

2. Once the Add Category screen loads you will have the below fields:

  • Name - This is a required field, it is the name of the category and will display as a heading on the page

  • Add within category - If the category you are adding is a subcategory you have the option of choosing the parent category from this drop down

  • Description - This is an optional field used to give the category a description

  • Visible - This will allow you to show or hide the category on the website

  • Template - This will allow you to choose a template for the category, we suggest keeping this at its default option

  • Password Protected - You have the ability to password protect the category

 

3. Once you have added all the information click the blue “Save Knowledgebase Category” button located at the bottom of the screen.
